Principal's Message

Welcome to the 2024-25 school year! As we start the new school year together on Monday, August 19, 2024, the staff at Muir Elementary School looks forward to working with you and your child. Our Muir staff strongly believes that the education of children is a partnership between the home and the school, and that parent involvement is crucial to the success of our students.

Please mark Thursday, August 15, 2024, for Muir’s Back to School Night from 5:00-6:30 PM. During this event, you will have the opportunity to meet our dedicated staff and receive important information about the upcoming school year.

The Muir Elementary office will extend its hours on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, for registration. The office will be open until 7:00 PM to accommodate all families.

Class lists will be posted on Thursday, August 15, 2024, on the cafeteria and office windows. These lists will indicate your child’s teacher and room number. Please note that no room changes will be made prior to Tuesday, September 9, 2024. Due to potential enrollment changes, we may need to create or collapse classrooms, which could result in your child being moved to a different class. We will contact you if this occurs.

Our district will be implementing an early release schedule on Tuesdays during a five-day school week for teacher professional development. Please visit our district website for calendar details: https://www.fresnounified.org/calendars/

Regular School Day Daily Schedule:

  • TK & Kindergarten: 8:00 AM - 1:35 PM
  • Grades 1st – 6th: 8:00 AM - 2:35 PM

Early Release School Day Daily Schedule:

  • TK & Kindergarten: 8:00 AM - 12:30 PM
  • Grades 1st – 6th: 8:00 AM - 1:30 PM

Parent conferences will be held during the week of October 21 through October 25, 2024, with dismissal occurring 65 minutes prior to our regular dismissal time. We will follow our early release schedule on these days.

Breakfast is served from 7:30 AM to 7:50 AM, and our after-school program is available daily until 6:00 PM.

The staff at Muir Elementary is committed to providing an education that will prepare your child to be a career-ready graduate, and we look forward to working with you toward this goal.
